Holt McDougal Online

***UPDATED TEXTBOOK INFORMATION***
The 7th grade Language Arts textbook is now available online!
Through the recent textbook adoption, we now have access to numerous resources the students can use both in and out of the classroom. The entire text of the book is available online. In addition, the site provides interactive games, practice quizzes and tests, tutorials, vocabulary games, history and science channel videos and so much more! I've include a list (below) of some of the resources, but it's really best to simply explore the site.

Log in page: Holt McDougal Textbook Log-In

Log in information: USERNAME - 7csas2   PASSWORD - 7csas2

The username and password are the same and every student has the same username and passworkd. Students can take the interactive quizzes or tests, but nothing will be saved under an individual student name since everyone shares the same account. The interactive tests, quizzes, or other practice activities can be printed out and are VERY useful. I'm working on getting access to more TECHNOLOGY in our classroom so we can use these as a class. ; )

I've only included a few of the resources from each tab. There really is SO much available. You simply have to play around with the website to find everything.

Nonfiction: Connections - links to nonfictions texts
PowerNotes Presentations with Video Trailers - PowerPoint presentations related to the stories. The presentations incorporate key vocabulary words, literary analysis, and reading strategies.
Selection Audio Summaries - Summaries of the stories in audio version. Great for struggling readers

·   Current Events: Newseum
Newseum is called Washington D.C.'s most interactive museum.
This is one of my favorite sites. It is so cool! On the right side of the site there's a tab called "TODAY'S FRONT PAGE" This tab takes you to the front page of over 600 newspapers from ALL OVER THE WORLD. This is a fantastic way to simply explore current events in the world!
Assessment
·   Level Up Tutorials - these tutorials are great if you're struggling with any skill we're working on in class! Take advantage of these resources!
